Fast Food Nation Movie Trailer

The film was made following the release of Schlosser’s book.  After viewing this trailer it appears to be somewhat of a parody of the original text.

Showing the contrast between the non-fiction text and the fictional film would be an interesting approach to introducing and modeling a multi-genre project.

As American enters the 21st century it finds itself at an unusual crossroad: the most popular exports are not technology or raw materials, but instead America’s own cultural mores.  Thus media such as television and movies, as well as cultural phenomenon such as fast food are increasingly becoming the products associated with America as well as its most profitable global products.  In the following clip Quentin Tarantino examines the phenomenology of fast food in Europe:
